Stasis Privacy Policy
Stasis is an iPhone app that makes sound to sleep, rest and work to. It has no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us. The one service it talks to is described below, and it never learns who you are.
What stays on your phone
Presets. The sounds you save are stored in the app’s own space on your phone. A preset you export is a small text file that describes the sound; it contains nothing about you, and where you send it is up to you.
Settings. Your theme and other preferences are stored on the phone with the app.
Free listening. Stasis counts how much of your first twenty-four hours of listening you have used, so it can offer them for free. That balance is a number kept in the iOS Keychain on this phone only. It is never synced, never backed up and never sent anywhere.
Purchases
Subscribing to Stasis, or unlocking it once, is an in-app purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details; Apple provides only the aggregate sales reports every developer gets.
To check that a purchase is valid and to remember it across your devices and reinstalls, Stasis uses RevenueCat, a service that reads App Store receipts on our behalf. When you open the app it sends RevenueCat a random identifier it generated for this install, the App Store transaction if there is one, and your device model, iOS version, app version and region. That is enough to tell whether a purchase is active and nothing more; it does not include your name, email address, Apple Account or location. RevenueCat’s handling of that data is described in its own privacy policy.
Motion
If you allow it, Stasis reads the motion of your AirPods so that spatial sound stays anchored in the room as you turn your head. That data is used live, on the phone, and is never stored or transmitted. Spatial sound works without it; you can decline the permission or turn it off later in Settings › Privacy & Security › Motion & Fitness.
Microphone
Stasis asks for the microphone only if you turn on the room-driven visualizer, which lets sound in the room move the picture on screen. The audio is analyzed live for that display and is never recorded, saved, played back or sent anywhere. You can revoke the permission at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone.
Children
Stasis is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
