Sound to sleep, rest and work to.

Stasis makes its sound from nothing: colored noise you shape by hand, five synthesized places to put it in, and an ambient synth underneath that cannot sound sour. Everything is generated on the phone while it plays, so nothing loops and nothing repeats.

Questions

How do the free nights work?

Your first twenty-four hours of listening are free, and they are counted only while sound is playing. A night where you fall asleep in ten minutes costs ten minutes. When they are used up, Stasis offers a monthly subscription or a one-time unlock for good. Either one removes the limit.

I already paid. Why is it asking again?

Choose Restore on the unlock screen. The purchase belongs to your Apple Account, so it restores on any iPhone signed in with it. If you subscribed, you can manage or cancel the subscription in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.

What are the nodes?

Each node on the pad is one sound. Drag it to change its tone and level, turn the crank to change its color from black through brown and pink to white, blue and violet, and pinch it to make it thinner or fuller. Tap the leaf to put a node in the rain, in running water, in wind, among crickets or among birds, and turn its noise off if you want only the place.

How do I get spatial sound?

Wear headphones. Stasis turns spatial sound on by itself when it hears headphones or another route that suits it, and leaves it off through the phone’s speaker. With AirPods that support head tracking, the room stays put as you turn your head; the app will ask for motion permission the first time.

Where is the volume?

On the Tone sheet, above the low and high cuts. It sets the app’s own level, independent of the phone’s volume buttons, so Stasis can sit under a video or a call without touching them.

Can I share a preset?

Yes. Every preset can be exported as a .stasis file and sent anywhere; opening one on another iPhone with Stasis installed adds it to that phone’s library.

Which languages does Stasis speak?

English, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. It follows your phone’s language; you can pick a different one for Stasis alone in Settings › Apps › Stasis.
